Interior Design for New Homes and Renovations

  • 1. Complimentary Phone Consult

    This one’s a freebie! By now you might have realised that I love a chat. Before you spend any money, we book in a 20 minute phone consult. The purpose of this call is to allow me to get a better understanding of what you need and whether I’m the best designer to help you. It’s also the perfect time to ask me questions about my service and what value I can add to your project.

  • 2. Initial Consultation

    Our next step is to book in a face-to-face consultation. I will come to your home, ask questions about your decorating style and preferences, take the time to listen and understand you, take measurements and photos and put together a design brief and fee proposal for you. If you accept my quote - we move on to creating a plan for your home.

  • 3. Concept Design

    This is the fun part. I will get to work putting together concepts, visuals and product selections for your approval. I will also make a hefty start on your design documentation. After this stage, you will have a really good understanding of the direction of your project.

  • 4. Design Meeting

    It’s time for another catch-up. This one’s exciting! I will present my ideas and visuals of your space, show you samples of products and discuss the overall design proposal for your home. We can make some hard and fast selections at this point and we can go over the finer details.

  • 5. Documentation

    At this stage, I will make changes to the concept based on our meeting, collate reports, navigate the permit approval process for you and finalise your documentation. At the end of the project, you will receive what is essentially an ‘instruction manual’ for your builder. Depending on your selected service, this may include full construction documentation and/or interior design drawings such as floor plans, internal elevations, electrical layouts, renders and product selections schedules. All in one neat and comprehensive set of drawings. Builders love it! It also means you can get ‘apples for apples’ quotes and nothing is assumed.

FAQs

  • We can tailor packages to suit your needs. Only need a shed? No problem. Have a small bathroom reno? That's great! Need a full custom home design with all of the interior design trimmings. Perfect! What we do, is up to you.

  • As soon as possible. If you engage my services at or before the concept/drafting phase of a renovation or build, we have more flexibility to have input into the plan. Once the building documentation is complete and permits are issued, I have to work with what has been approved by council.

  • Absolutely! All of the above and more. I never pretend to be an expert at everything. I know my field and I love working with other trades and professionals when I come across something I don’t know yet. But consulting with tradies and councils is part of my everyday and I can guide you through it with confidence.

  • Great! I love clients who have strong ideas at the beginning. It’s gives us an excellent starting point. I’m not here to hijack your project. I will listen to you and help you pull all of your ideas together. You will receive the same great service and valuable documentation that all of my clients do. Plus, you will have access to my expert knowledge and guidance to make sure everything comes together just as you envisioned it. We are a team!

  • I think we all have particular styles that we are drawn to. But will I push my personal preferences on to you? No way! I have studied and worked with loads of different styles and my job is to discover a look that you love and make sure your home reaches its full potential.

  • How long is a piece of string? I’m kidding, it really does depend on the complexity of your project. I like to keep the ball rolling along, and I can give you an estimate when I understand your brief.

  • I’m based in Launceston, Tasmania. I offer my services to the Launceston and surrounding areas. However, it’s a small state and I can travel if required.
