Morris Road is a new home in Melrose, designed to feel like a warm country home from day one. My role was the interiors.

The kitchen is built around a feature island in Shaker-style cabinetry, with earthy olive greens, light stone benchtops, black handles and deep, warm timber. A butler's pantry with open shelving and easy-reach drawers provides functionality and keeps the everyday out of sight. The oven tower, concealed rangehood and plumbed fridge were planned around how the home owners cook, with a proper home for every appliance, Thermomix included.

Drawers over doors, clever storage for hand towels and chopping boards, and easy-clean, pet-friendly finishes make it practical for a couple and their indoor dog. Living room joinery, warm white walls and feature panelling carry the same feel through the rest of the house.
