March is the THD Studio Anniversary, and this month I’m sharing something a little more personal…
Over the past few years I’ve been designing and building my own home extension - a project that became the clearest expression of how I approach design.
Raeburn is both our family home and the Tahleah Hoyle Design studio. Every decision -from the layout to the materials and the way the house sits on the site - was considered through the same lens I bring to each client project.
It’s a modest sized home by modern standards, but one that has been carefully designed to perform well, support family life and feel good to live in every day.
In Feburary, the house was professionally photographed by Heath from HD Visuals, with styling assistance from Four Walls and a Stylist. It was a big week of preparation behind the scenes - cleaning, planning, styling and shooting - to capture the essence of the spaces properly.
After a lot of cleaning, styling and rearranging cushions… I’m very happy to finally share it. I’ve written a new article sharing the thinking behind the design and the decisions that shaped the home.
As many of you know, I’ll soon be taking a short period of leave while travelling overseas. The studio is currently a flurry of design work before I go, and I’m looking forward to sharing a few highlights from Milan Design Week while I’m away.
