Welcome to the final edition of Inside the Studio for 2025 - a moment to pause, reflect, and wrap up a very big year. Whether you're a current client, past collaborator, or just someone who loves following along…thank you for being here.

In the Studio: What I’ve Been Working On

2025 was my first year working in THD full time, though the business itself has been growing quietly in the background since 2017.

Stepping into it felt exciting, terrifying, overdue… and exactly right. I expected a quiet start, but the opposite happened. By June, my waitlist had taken on a life of its own. Looking at my project map now, covered in pins from the North-West to the East Coast and down to Hobart, I feel proud, grateful, and a bit in awe of what this year became.

I’ve welcomed 33 new projects this year, which has helped me refine the work I take on and align myself with amazing clients who trust the process and value thoughtful design. It’s also given me a quiet confidence that THD is growing because of the years of hard work (and a lot of love) I’ve invested behind the scenes.

The projects have been wonderfully varied - kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, extensions, new homes, compliance and documentation. I enjoy all of it for different reasons, but the whole-home projects are where I feel most in my element. They pull together the creative and the technical and allow me to design in a way that genuinely shapes how people live.

Behind the scenes, I’ve spent this year shaping THD into the kind of business I always wanted it to be - one that reflects who I am, how I think, and the care I put into every project. I’ve built and refined systems; and I’ve developed a rhythm that supports my focus and energy, a process that is imbued with my values: authenticity in how I show up, connection in every conversation, expression through tailored design and quality in the details that matter. Someone recently told me: Be. Do. Have. And it’s true - the business I want grows from being the person I need to be and doing the work in a way that honours that.

2025 went by in the blink of an eye and still managed to exceed every expectation. My January goals seem tiny in the rear view mirror and as I step into 2026, I hope my clients, new and long-standing, feel confident and excited knowing their homes are being shaped by thoughtful hands with intention, experience and genuine care.

The THD Values: Why They Matter in Your Design Journey

Explore the core values behind Tahleah Hoyle Design and why they matter for your renovation or new build, in Tasmania. Good home design takes time - and it’s worth it.

If you're planning a renovation or new build next year, here are the things I’m going to want to know more about.

• A clear sense of how you live and what isn’t working.
The best briefs start with everyday frustrations. Let me find a solution.

• An honest outline of your goals and priorities. What matters most? Storage? Light? Future-proofing? Entertaining?
Knowing this helps me design with real intention.

• A realistic budget range.
Renovations involve structure, services, drainage, engineering and approvals.
Early investigation helps us make smart choices.

• An understanding that good design takes time. Concepts, revisions, consultants, planning, documentation - none of this is quick if we want it done properly.

• Openness to collaboration and conversation. The best projects happen when clients feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions and trusting the process.

• Timing that aligns with your build goals.
If you're planning to build within 12–18 months, now is the right time to begin design work.

• Willingness to think long-term.
A home should work for you now and for the years ahead.

Design Snapshot: The Raw, Un-Edited Version

I want to close out the year with a very ‘un-edited’ snapshot of a recently completed project.

In a text message from the builder: “Evening Tahleah. Here’s some pictures of your awesome design work”.

I LOVE these moments.
Not because the photos were styled or polished - they weren’t - but because this is exactly the kind of work and relationship that brings me joy. Clear design, good communication, mutual respect and a shared goal of building something properly.

It’s a simple moment, but it sums up the type of projects I love, the type of trades I value, and the standard I’ll be carrying into 2026.
